Cold windy morning in Great Lakes

I woke up early this morning to get ready to head over to my son’s graduation from the Navy Recruit Command. It had snowed a good 2 to 3 inches over night and turned blustery cold. Pretty typical weather for the Great lakes this time of year. I have some time to get ready but the first thing I did was make sure I had my credentials together. After all, I am going onto a military installation. The other thing I have to remember is that my truck is covered in ice and snow. Its going to take time to get it cleaned off.

Windy and cold

Windy and cold

I spent a little time at Foss Park in North Chicago which is actually just a few miles from the Wisconsin border. With the wind chill it felt like it was about 20 degrees.

December on the Great Lakes can be brutal.

Tomorrow it’s off to Chicago and my son’s graduation from the Navy Recruit Center.

Dark gloomy day in mid December right before the holiday break.

This may not be the most picturesque shot of Cincinnati but it has been my view for the last three years. Considering everything I have been pretty lucky.
